The In Vitro Sciences department within Charles River is engaged in the following areas of research; genetic toxicology, percutaneous penetration, in vitro toxicology, electrophysiology (safety pharmacology) and bespoke testing. We now have the following exciting opportunity for an ambitious scientist:
You will be part of our global Genetic Toxicology function and play a major role in driving the growth and development of this area.
You will direct the activities of a team of scientists engaged in Genetic Toxicology. You will be working closely with internal business units and external sponsors to provide a high quality, expert and timely service. The primary scientific testing techniques are Ames, chromosomal aberrations, mouse lymphoma, in vitro micronucleus, in vivo micronucleus and COMET. It is expected that you will continue to expand the range of services offered.
In addition, you will be involved in developing and growing the business with current and potential external clients, so regular travel will be a prerequisite of the post. Experience in business development activities would be an advantage.
With a successful track record in Genetic Toxicology and experience in staff and study management at a senior level, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to motivate and develop staff to perform at the highest level. Educated to at least degree level, you will have a sound technical background and effective organisational skills.
